Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (PURA)
What is PURA?
Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (PURA) was formed in 1959 to promote the revitalization of Pueblo. An 11-member board and its executive director identify areas with the little or no investment and create a plan to stimulate the neighborhood through development projects.
PURA participates in development projects either by offering direct incentives to private developers, utilizing public/private partnerships, or by directly investing in public improvements.
PURA is a governmental entity enabled by Colorado State Statute and established by the Pueblo municipal government. It is the second oldest urban renewal organization in the state, and one of more than 40 operating in Colorado today.
The City Center Partnership is proud to be partners with PURA, affording both organizations a multitude of tools to assist City Center businesses (established and forming) to succeed and thrive.
